You just got what is arguably the best smoking accessory for the grill, but are you wondering how it works? Here is a quick tutorial on how to use Mo's Smoking Pouch so you can start smoking sooner!
OPENING THE SMOKING POUCH - Open the Smoking Pouch by rotating the top closer up and to the right. Hollow the pouch open so it will hold wood chips. This hollowing process will only be required once because the stainless steel mesh will retain the hollow shape.
POURING IN THE WOOD CHIPS - Pour in the desired amount of Mo’s Wood Chips into the pouch through the open end.
CLOSE THE TOP - Simply rotate the closer back down to the left and over the top of the Smoking Pouch. The wood chips will not spill out and the Smoking Pouch will be sealed on all sides in order to deprive the wood chips of oxygen on the grill.
ON THE GRILL - Place the Smoking Pouch over the flame or hot coals on the cooking surface of the grill. If you have a gas grill, keep the burner directly under the pouch on high until you see the first signs of smoke coming out of the pouch (typically 2-4 minutes depending on your particular grill). Add your meat, seafood or vegetables to the grill at this time, and grill them as you normally would. Then reduce the flame directly under the Smoking Pouch (or move the Smoking Pouch to the side of the cooking surface) for a nice, steady volume of smoke for 30 minutes or more.
If the pouch ever flames up, douse the flame by lightly spraying water onto the pouch, and then reduce the heat below the pouch. If you see flames, the pouch is not smoking optimally.
The pouch will permanently turn a dark color after repeated use. This is normal as the pouch seasons. Feel free to rinse the pouch out (or even run it through the dishwasher) between uses.
Warning: Only use this product for its intended use. Do not touch any part of the Smoking Pouch when in use. Only handle the Smoking Pouch when you are sure it has cooled to room temperature.
